A superb setting for a museum.The first floor of the Louis XII wing of the Château de Blois contains six rooms of art treasures, both painting and sculpture. 300 works trace the history of art in Europe from the 16th century to the 19th century.Among the masterpieces exhibited, you will see paintings by Lavinia Fontana, Cousin, Stella, Boucher and Ingres but also sculptures by Leymonie, David d’Angers and Préault. The Museum of Fine Arts at the Château de Blois reserves a special place for the genre of portraiture in the 17th century, and troubadour art of the early 19th century, which tells the story of the heroes of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, such as Joan of Arc and Francis I.The exhibition room of the Museum of Fine Arts at the Château de Blois has two exhibitions a year, with works selected from the reserve collections.
